Travel Medium to Modessa Island Resort
Travel time from Manila to Roxas City is forty five minutes by plane and around sixteen hours by ship. There are two (2) airlines operating in Roxas City (RXS): Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines (PAL) which has a daily schedule flight from Manila-Roxas and Roxas-Manila. There are ferryboats that travel from Masbate and Romblon; and also trek through Capiz via Ro-Ro (roll-on roll-off) buses. The Moreta Shipping Lines’ M/V Love 1 is one passenger ship operating in Roxas city, Culasi Port, and Capiz which embarks for Capiz two times a week. Travel from Iloilo City is approximately two (2) hours by private car or bus. And it will take around four (4) hours travel going to Boracay Island by land.
Travel Stops before Modessa Island Resort
Manila locals going to Modessa Island Resort has to travel to Roxas, Palawan. Roxas City is popularly called the Seafood Capital of the Philippines. Indeed it will burst out your seafood allergies.
Before going directly to Modessa Island, you may explore the neighboring towns of Palawan as easy quick visit from Roxas City to Panay and Capiz. Move around Roxas City and stopover the Cathedral, Provincial Capitol Building and the Plaza. You may also visit the Birthplace of Manuel Roxas, Olutayan Island, Moro Towers, Quipot Cave, Buntod Beach, Napti Island, Pilar Cave, Suhot Cave, Tucad Reef , Mantalinga Island and many other natural, historical and man-made attractions in Capiz.
A tricycle tour to Panay Church and around Roxas City, will cost you P180 pesos for the whole tour which is quite cheap.
From Roxas City Airport to the Seafood Restaurants in Baybay Beach is approximately five minutes away, take a tricycle which cost only just P10 pesos, but I suggest not to take a tricycle from inside the airport, as you know very expensive. You could just walk a few meters outside the airport and take a tricycle that passes by.
To get to Sta. Monica Church (Panay, Capiz) is just eight kilometers southeast of Roxas City.
To get to Pan-ay is a 15-20 minutes ride via a tricycle or a jeepney which cost a rental round trip to and back to Roxas City is around 150 pesos.
How to Get To Modessa Island Resort
Modessa Island Resort takes two (2) hours drive with car from Roxas and then additional thirty (30) minutes boat ride to get to the island and back to municipality of Roxas wharf 140km away from the City of Puerto Princesa.
